have you ever wonder why people commit to attend Bible College or bother to really study into the Bible, even though they are not going to priest/ priestess? i mean, the Bible - the most popular book worldwide, most controversial book of century yet has become so 'novelised' by many, even by Christians ourselves.. yes, we all know it's God's Word to us, His very own Revelation through the hands of inspired individuals throughout the century, written in black&white for us all... but how many of us really take the Scriptures seriously as GOD'S PERSONAL WORD? for many Christians, reading the Bible is as good as bedtime stories.. even if you are more matured in your Christian walk, many of us will try to commit into daily reading/devotionals.. why some of us really study the Word seriously?
desire to know God more? i must say that's a very politically right answer, but is it the true reflection of our hearts? or, responding to our call to be pastor/deacon of the church? or, do we just want to be more knowledgeable than our fellow Christians.. seriously, i dont know and i wont know, not even for myself..
all i know is when you study topics like theology, it tends to broaden your perception of what-you-know.. it challenges what we believes as 'right' of God yet it empowers us to obtain a higher knowledge in the Truth through systematics, giving us the grace to be charitable with one another in the same Body. with God being a rationale and logical Creator (remembers? He works in His Timetable - systematic), it's no wonder theology is deemed as queen of sciences... in case you dun know, i love science! gosh, i think i'm really going to enjoy my classes, despite its 1 thick reading of main text + 16 supplementary readings + 1 four-pages assignment as 'exam' to be completed by end of September (2mth from now)!!
goodness, everything that happens in my life happen at the same time..
1) my recent smooth and fast job offer *honestly, i really thank God for opening doors and windows of Heaven to pour His blessings like this - everything is so swift and efficient, all 'aligned' with what i wished in my heart; who dares to challenge the power of prayers*..
2) the Bible Sunday homily by Fr Yim, and the Sunday service by Pst Kong on Prayer Life, renewing my personal commitment with my God and His Word..
3) and now, start of SBC school term with one of my favourite subjects - Christian theology, in spite of my agonizing cycle which tempted me with traunt on my first lesson..
everything seems to be pointing to a new chapter for me.. i know something is brewing yet i just dont know..
the mystery of future lies in the bed of excitement and curiousity, requiring the persistency of faith to unveil the wonders of His Grace~
1 Tim 5:17
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
1 Tim 4:16
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
