It’s kinda sad when most people I know don't know or even heard of what is happening in Gaza. (hello, people! Please wise up! Cozy-cushioned Singapore is NOT the only country in this world!)
I can understand why the firm standing by Israel not to cease attacks on Hamas’ militants, but perhaps a considerable reduction - Israel's desire to protect itself. While they insist they are not targeting civilians, but how do bombs identify who is civilian and who is not? I agree with Dr Mads Gilbert that it is a very silly statement to make.
It’s almost blindly assumes that militants will be ‘outstanding’ in a clear area for Israel to attack. Anyone in the right mind will find shield, perhaps even in the expense of civilians shielding. It’s almost calling out to Hamas that “come out from your hiding and fight”.. what a heroic calling. But who in the right mind will follow the good old traditional battle tactics to fight in a non-residence area?
Looking at the limited Gaza reports, I can’t help wondering how many more are actually being killed and injured without being known. Is 25% a real 25% of death toll? So many more women and children are being wounded, both physically and psychologically. In fact, what makes you think militants can’t hide? Being trained physically and mentally for battle, they would have and be able to find themselves a safe shelter from the bombings. It is the poor civilians, esp women and children, who are not trained for such life-and-death battle who are more exposed to those bombs.
Looking at this ‘protection’ attacks, how hurting is it to the heart of God.. His creation killing His creation in the name of self-protection. ... somehow... i know Jesus is weeping now..
