11 Oct 09 - chewing and research

firstly, i have to say i'm surprised to receive comment on my blog (besides my dear brother, david, who is forced to read, i dont think anyone else will be interested)..

well, one thing good abt having depression - i'm more expressive in my words now, after a long break. i tell you, watching tv programmes all day is no laughing matter.. it's so tiring, yet I CANT SLEEP! seriously, with all the medication and stress upon me, i really dont understand why cant i sleep all day this time.. i mean, time will pass much easier and faster in sleep.. what else can i do at home? i simply laze around like my 2 dogs at home..

someone told me to 'get in touch' with my emotions (stress).. so i kinda reflected.. what the hell happened this time? no BGR this time, just work.. revamping HR policies & processes is my forte.. but.. perhaps i'm just too sick and tired of revamping (seriously, why orgainisations nowadays like to revamp policies and processes?).. if u talk abt work culture, ok, perhaps moving into local firm is not a wise move but i sure learnt my lesson.. oh, how abt putting additional work expectations on myself.. ya, i guess so, perhaps that's why switching paths is good for me cos i'll be in totally different field with no idea how much i can contribute.. but that's just speculating and what really happened.. i'm still chewing to get some juice out of it..

**********
after wasting time on the "Sorrogate" movie online, i decided to use my remnant sanity to research on depression. well, the last time i was busy fighting this beast 24-7 that i didn't really do any research, so i guess i might as well now..

guess what.. i'm not the only workaholic who are under depression..
Most people who have gone through one episode of depression will, sooner or later, have another one. You may begin to feel some of the symptoms of depression several weeks before you develop a full-blown episode of depression. in fact, due to lack of sleep, workaholics are prone to depression~it’s a flaw of being a type-A, driven, workaholic personality. (hey, that's me~) Stress can be invisible and subconscious, from guilt about a variety of things, personal and professional and it can induce productivity-grinding panic and anxiety attacks. (tell me abt it-i'm already guilty stress for not working~) When it comes to diet, grains, nuts, and fruit helps to fight depression (no wonder i've been craving for nuts past weeks)..And not to forget daily intake of vitamins and water! (ok, i will take my vitamins n water.. no more coffee or tea for me~)

ok ok, to sum it up, i've to take more vit E stuff, more omega-3 and more folic acid (vit B9) stuff in order to increase my serotonin level.. ok, bananas here i come!
